So, a supplementary degree certificate, also known as a provisional degree certificate, is given right after you clear your final year. It has your final year grades and your transfer certificate.

Think of it as an immediate thing from the university for students applying for jobs.

The main degree certificate? You get that later, like 6-8 months after your final year results. You have to apply for it on the university's convocation site and pay a fee. Then, you pick it up at the convocation.

Basically, the main difference is that you get the supplementary one first, and the main one comes later.
