It really boils down to what you're into! Both NIT Surat for Mechanical Engineering and BITS Goa for an MSc in Maths have their perks.

If you're more into the practical side of things, like engines and machines, NIT Surat might be a better fit. You'll get hands-on experience and a good shot at landing a job in a top company.
On the other hand, if you enjoy diving deep into theories and higher-level math, BITS Goa could be your thing. Keep in mind, though, that a dual degree might lead you more towards becoming a mathematician or professor.

Also, it's worth checking if you can switch from M.Sc to B.Tech after the first year at BITS Goa, just like you can't at NIT Surat. Choose what genuinely interests you!
