Faculty: The teachers are helpful and know their stuff. However, some say the faculty in other departments are even better than ECE. If you're aiming for a CGPA above 9, you'll need to put in the extra effort.
Subjects: The course covers some really interesting topics. You'll get a mix of core electronics, communication, programming, and electrical stuff.
Placements: There aren't many core electronics companies that come to Surat for placements, but the on-campus placements are still decent. Companies like John Deere, MasterCard, and Airtel, along with software companies like JPMC and Carwale, recruit from this course.

The main reason ECE is sometimes seen as less popular than Mechanical is because Mechanical has top-notch professors, more core companies, is one of the oldest branches, and has a large class size. It's not that ECE is bad, but Mechanical is just way ahead at SVNIT.
