From what I've heard, the faculty in the metallurgy department at NIT AP are really supportive and friendly. You shouldn't have any problems with the theory side of things.

Since NIT AP is relatively new, students sometimes visit other local colleges for practical work and lab experience. Many have visited NIT Warangal, which gave them a great look at modern facilities. Right now, NIT AP has basic labs, but they're working on building more. The administration is helpful and cooperative.

NIT AP has lots to offer, and the metallurgy branch could be a good choice, especially if you compare it to the top NITs. It might be a good idea to connect with a current student to get a better understanding of what it's really like.
