College Internship Opportunities :
The college provides decent internship opportunities. Many companies visit the campus to hire interns, especially for core branches. If you are in the core branches, you will definitely get the internship opportunities. The college also helps you prepare for the interviews.
Course Information :
I'm in the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (MME) department, and the curriculum is pretty solid. It's updated and geared towards getting us job-ready. We get a good mix of lectures, lab work, and tutorials. They focus on research, industry knowledge, and even IT skills through electives. It's a well-rounded course!
Fee Structure :
The course fees are around ₹1.3-1.5 lakh per year. The good thing is that there are tuition fee waivers for OBC, SC/ST, and students with disabilities. Compared to other colleges, the fees are reasonable, especially considering the average placements you get here. Totally worth the money!
Faculty :
The teachers here are pretty cool and supportive. The student-teacher relationship is nice. They're knowledgeable and always ready to help if you're struggling with something. They bring a lot of experience to the classroom, which makes learning more practical.
Campus Details :
Campus life at NIT Durgapur is awesome! There's a ton of freedom, though first-year students have some time restrictions. We have two major fests, Aarohan (tech) and Nityamini (cultural), which are huge in Eastern India. Plus, there are so many clubs – CCA, drama, music, dance, Radio Nitroz, Darpan, you name it! The campus is located in Durgapur, a major city in West Bengal, so everything is easily accessible.
