College Internship Opportunities :
Internship opportunities are decent, especially if you're in CSE or Electrical. Companies do come for campus placements, but Mechanical students might find fewer options. It's improving, but still needs a lot of work to get more companies for core mechanical roles.
Course Information :
B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering at IIT Bhilai has its ups and downs. The curriculum is tough, and grading is relative. If you're passionate about machines, it's a good option, but be ready for a challenge. The course could benefit from more experienced faculty to guide students better.
Fee Structure :
The fee for B.Tech courses is around ₹2.4 lakhs per year. Good news for SC/ST students – they get a full tuition fee waiver! Also, if your family income is below a certain limit, you can get some fee reduction. So, IIT Bhilai tries to make education accessible.
Faculty :
Most of the faculty members are fresh PhDs, which means they're super knowledgeable in their fields but might lack teaching experience. They're dedicated, but sometimes it feels like they're still learning how to teach effectively. Hoping they get more experienced over time!
Campus Details :
Right now, IIT Bhilai is running from a temporary campus. Classrooms are decent with AC, and the library is okay. They have badminton and basketball courts. The canteen is there for snacks. It's not the best, but it works for now. Eagerly waiting for the permanent campus!
