College Internship Opportunities :
Internship opportunities are limited, and the college doesn't provide much support in securing good internships. Most students have to rely on their own connections or off-campus opportunities. The college needs to focus on building industry connections and providing better internship support to students for practical experience.
Course Information :
I opted for B.Tech Aerospace Engineering, driven by my passion for space. However, the course at Bharath Institute focuses mainly on exam-oriented teaching. While the curriculum covers the basics, it lacks in-depth knowledge and practical application, which is crucial for a field like aerospace. I wish there was more emphasis on research and real-world projects.
Fee Structure :
The fee structure is quite high, with my course costing ₹75,000 per year, including a ₹15,000 career development fee that feels unnecessary. The hostel fees are an additional ₹82,500 per year. Considering the quality of education and facilities, it doesn't feel like a worthwhile investment. There are definitely better options available at this price point.
Faculty :
Some faculty members are dedicated and knowledgeable, but unfortunately, many just focus on completing the syllabus for exams. They don't provide extra knowledge or encourage critical thinking. A few teachers come only to mark attendance and leave, citing pending work. The faculty needs to be more engaging and invested in students' learning.
Campus Details :
The campus has a few trees, which provide a somewhat pleasant atmosphere, but overall, it's not very green. Club activities exist, but they are poorly planned and executed, usually held in small classrooms with limited participation. The college is located in Tambaram, making it accessible via train and Chennai airport. The campus could definitely use some improvements.
